Cochabamba, Bolivia
Bolivia is a landlocked "heart" of
South America. It became independent from Spain in 1826. Bolivia is one
of the least developed countries in South America. Almost two-thirds of
its people, many of whom are subsistence farmers, live in poverty.
As the Bolivian Indian Mission, (BIM), SIM first entered Bolivia in 1907. SIM Bolivia's vision is that by the year 2010 there will be a strong evangelical church in Bolivia constituting 30% of the population. SIM's role in bringing about a mature church in Bolivia is through leadership development.
Cochabamba, where CCS is located, is the third largest city in Bolivia (~800,000 people). It is located in a valley of the same name in the Andes mountain range. |
